Worldwide Group Travel and Events, LLC Partners with #1 Urban Brand, 107.5-FM WBLS, to Take Listeners to Jamaica
Exclusive, star-studded trip tailored for WBLS radio listeners
NEW YORK, New York – On May 1 – 4th, listeners of WBLS in New York will take over the Royalton White Sands Resort in Jamaica for an exciting weekend of VIP events and activities, including intimate R&B performances from national recording artists Joe and Doug E. Fresh, hosted by actor Lance Gross. The exclusive trip, organized by Worldwide Group Travel & Events, LLC, is designed to unite listeners with the WBLS brand, while bringing sponsors, entertainers and radio station personalities together with their affluent urban audience to build rapport and engagement.
“There is a growing trend among travelers seeking experiences as part of their travel plans,” said Lisa Jones, founder of Worldwide Group Travel & Events. “At the same time, we’re also seeing a rise in tribe travel – groups of people with shared interests traveling together. Certainly, this exclusive trip for affluent urban radio listeners checks both of those boxes.”
Marrying event planning and production with group travel is a unique niche in the travel industry. The 4-day vacation package includes an array of VIP events and activities tailored for music-lovers – including live on-air broadcasts, private concerts and mingling with well-known celebrities.
“This type of event really works because it provides the radio station trips to give away to listeners and offers sponsors a unique platform for reaching a valuable audience, while also providing radio listeners an extraordinary VIP-style vacation,” said Jones. “There’s no better way to build rapport and loyalty.”
Worldwide Group Travel and 107.5 WBLS are producing the WBLS Jamaica Splashfest Getaway, in partnership with the Royalton White Sands Montego Bay resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and the Jamaica Tourist Board. Along with the national recording artists, special guests include the 90’s superstar Nicci Gilbert from the R&B group Brownstone, along with WBLS radio personalities, Comedian Earthquake, Deja, Lenny Green, and Dahved Levy.
Deon Levingston, President of YMF Media and General Manager of WBLS, said, “We are very excited about this trip and partnering with Worldwide Group Travel. We have always had very successful trip promotions and we look forward to connecting with our listeners in Jamaica and giving them a great experience with WBLS.”
